The weeknd is a respected Canadian R&B artist. He has produced 5 studio albums since he entered the R&B scene in 2011 after his hit album "House of balloons" Since then, he has gone on multiple tours and performed all around the world; including a performance at the Super Bowl.
The weeknd is the only child of the two Ethiopan immigrants, Makkonen Tesfaye and Samrawit Hailu. Not long after his birth, they separated and his dad was no longer in the picture. He was brought up in Scarborough, Canada by his mother and maternal grandmother.
